We'll see how I feel when I try the full version though :-Pįirstly, I wouldn't put an amp simulator in a Bus. Green Machine II, Free Amp 3, Amplitube 2, Revalver, Legendary Amps, etc), GR3 is so far the best sounding amp simulator to me. But, as far as the other ones I've tried (i.e. I've never tried the Ant Farm, so I can't really make any comparisons between the two. However, you get better results by rolling your own. I think the Full version has a much better preset library (at least in quantity, not sure about quality). Thing is, as with all plugins, you can't really go by the presets (at least not with the LE version). To each his own - this is why it's so great to be making music right now is that there are a lot of high quality choices that simply didn't exist a few years ago or brought any machine to its knees. It seems to emulate so much to the point where it sounds like a characature of the tone to me (maybe a bit of an exaggeration). It's almost like grape candy tastes like grape candy but very little like grapes. There's just something too crunchy and ambient about the GR3 stuff to me. Now, I'm primarily a drummer, but I found that I prefer the sounds that I get from the PODFarm line of things to the GR tones. Ya know, having messed with GR3 LE that comes with 8, I wasn't all that thrilled.
